Coalesce—Game Testing
Game Testing
After the game testing session from Week 12, I received great feedback from several play testers. Most of the feedback I received from the form praised the game but was not actionable (except for a few minor bugs). This is my own fault, as I asked the wrong questions to get actionable feedback. In future I would rephrase the questions to be, "what could be done to improve X" rather than "was X done well in this game".
That having been said, some of the verbal feedback while people were playing the game was actionable, with many play testers suggesting that sound effects should be added. I had not planned to add sound effects, but with one more week before dead line and every other major feature completed, I plan to spend the final week on sound effects.
There were also a few minor bugs, such as strange resolutions when launching the game (which is a WebGL issue and not worth fixing), and the ball getting stuck on top of a few obstacles. This seems to be an issue with the colliders on some of the objects in the scene, where even though the top may not be flat, the ball can still get stuck (possibly due to friction).
Some people also requested more levels, which is a great suggestion and one I would love to entertain, but additional levels would take time to make that I do not have so close to the deadline.
